These two puppies were recently abandoned at a dumpster at one of the apartment complexes in my sister's company. Her friend Traci rescued them, but only has until Saturday to find them homes before she will need to take them to the pound. I don't know very much about them (age, etc) but the black lab is a male, and the golden retriever mix is female. If you want to know more, let me know or e-mail Traci Spelts at kiree98@yahoo.com. Please pass this along to the dog people you know!

The Woodlands Racetrack in Kansas City is closing August 24th. I have spoken with REGAP (Retired Greyhounds as Pets) here in Kansas City . There are 600 Greyhounds at the track. Greyhound rescue estimates they will be able to get 200 into the rescue network.  The Woodlands is one of the last stop race tracks in the Greyhound racing industry, the remaining 400 will be 'returned' to the breeders and likely put-to-sleep. They need as much help as they can get for fosters, adoptions, transports, etc. PLEASE contact them if you can help and forward to friends you know who may be able to help, as well. REGAP can be reached at 816-763-3333.

Yesterday, a lady in Mesa, AZ died leaving behind a dog and a cat.  She had no family and these pets were constantly by her side these last several months when she was too ill to work any longer.  It was her dying wish that her beloved pets should go together to a new home. While it may not be possible to keep them together, that is the first choice.

Both animals are spayed females and are inside pets.  The cat, Needles, has long black fur, is litter box trained and is approx. 10 years old. The neighbors who are feeding the pets say she stays hidden under the bed when they are inside the home.  The dog, Sue Sue, is a medium sized, tan, Australian Shepherd mix, about 7 years old and is housebroken. She, too, is shy and withdrawn at this time.

Their home will be repossessed by the mortgage company.  Arrangements are being made to take the animals from their home soon, probably on Friday.  These two little ones do not deserve to have their love repaid by euthanizing them.  Please contact me at home at (602) 283-4305 for more information or if you would like to adopt this loyal dog and cat.

Please, if you know of anyone who would give these devoted companions a good home, pass this information along to them.  Also ask all yourfriends and family to pass this email on.  Thank you so much.

My husband found these 5 lab pups in our neighborhood this morning on his way to work. Apparently, someone dumped them. We think they are 6 -8 weeks old. Attached are a few pictures. Really need to find a home we are leaving to go out of town on Saturday. Just let  me know if anyone is interested. Tavisha.RandolphDavis@AxisGRP.com
Divorce forcing move into an apartment.  They are both big dogs. One is a shepherd/chow mix and the other is a collie mix. The collie mix has valley fever and due to his financial state he is unable to afford her medications. He has about a week left before he will have to move and if he hasn't found homes for them, he may have to resort to sending the shepherd to a shelter and euthanizing the collie. He is afraid that because of her medical condition nobody will want to adopt her, despite the fact that she is happy and comfortable, though he is devastated at the thought of having to put her down. I would greatly appreciate if you could forward this email and any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.  kwebb86@hotmail.com No Picture

Can you help? Two abandoned Dalmatians round on Scottsdale Road.  They have been well cared for, but all of the numbers listed on their tags have been disconnected.  Tried to place them in a no kill shelter.  The shelters are all full because of all of the foreclosures in the Valley and people having to move into rentals. They are wonderful. Jackie's e-mail is  javignone@cox.net Her telephone number is 480-629-8214.  Let's help this sweet boy and girl, find a home.
